Flower  Essence Therapy

 What is Flower  Essence Therapy?

Flower essence therapy is a gentle form of natural healing that works with the energy of flowers to support your emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Unlike herbal remedies or essential oils, flower essences don’t act on the physical body. Instead, they carry the vibrational qualities of a flower, helping to bring your mind, heart, and spirit back into balance.

Each flower has its own unique “personality.” For example, one essence may ease feelings of fear, another may bring clarity, and another may help with grief, confidence or help find inner peace. Taken as drops under the tongue or in water, flower essences work subtly but deeply, guiding you toward greater harmony and resilience.

Why Work with a Practitioner?

While you can buy flower essences on your own, working with a practitioner helps you go much deeper. Choosing the right essence isn’t always about the surface issue

(like stress, sadness, or self-doubt).

A skilled practitioner listens closely, helps uncover what’s really at the root of what you’re experiencing, and selects remedies that match your unique emotional landscape.

Think of it as having a guide who can “translate” what your inner world is asking for. This support helps you get the most out of the essences, so your healing process feels more focused, effective, and nurturing.

Choosing the right flower essence can feel overwhelming—there are hundreds of remedies, and
each one supports a different emotional or spiritual need.

A trained practitioner helps you:

Discover your unique needs by listening deeply to what’s happening in your life.

Identify the right remedies

that match your personal patterns and goals.

Create a custom blend

that supports you on the emotional and energetic level you most need right now.

Receive ongoing support

as your needs change and evolve over time.

Working with a practitioner isn’t just about picking the “right flower”—it’s about having a guide
who can help you see patterns, track your progress, and walk alongside you on your healing journey.

History of Flower Medicine

The practice of flower essence therapy was pioneered in the 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, a British physician and homeopath. Bach believed that illness was caused by a conflict between the soul's intentions and the personality's actions, and he created 38 "Bach Flower Remedies" to address specific emotional states and restore balance.

Since Bach’s time people have embraced the therapy and expanded it from the original 38 English plants, to plants from all over the world. The vastly increased amount of essences allows for more specialized remedies that address a wider range of modern challenges. Both physical and emotional, that include, but are not limited to exhaustion, anxiety, trauma and complex life transitions. The other significant change is the blending of essences to create specific formulas for common issues as well as customizing a therapeutic blend.

Advancements have been made in the scientific community as psychological research is diving into this modality and comparing how certain essences can help clients compare and contrast old emotional patterns with new choices. Some regions, like Sao Paulo, Brazil have incorporated flower essence therapy into public health centers, recognizing its potential to support mind-body wellness.

What is needed to be successful?

To be open and to be honest, with your practitioner and yourself! The flowers will work for anyone, but the real differentiator is sharing details about your life, feelings and history with your practitioner. During your intake and check-ins, there might be some uncomfortable questions, do your best to answer or let the practitioner know you are not comfortable answering.

Remember, you have been going through life looking from your own perspective.
Let’s consider those your personal glasses. Those lenses are the only ones you’ve ever

looked through and you have made it so they protect you and show you what you want and need to see to feel safe and protected. It is how we make sense of the world. As you
begin your journey with Flower Essences and your practitioner, be open to learning new perspectives, upgrading your lenses and even trying someone else’s on. The ability to know that life is more than one perspective is where growth can really accelerate!

Are There Safety Concerns?

Flower essences are considered very safe because they contain no active physical ingredients. Flowers are soaked in fresh water and their medicine is infused in to the water using sunshine. The flower matter is removed and the water is preserved with alcohol. In our case, we use vodka to ensure no unwanted germs grow and support the infusion to be shelf stable. There are only trace amounts of alcohol in the blend you receive, as only a few drops of flower infused water are used and three drops of alcohol to preserve a 1 oz dosage bottle. Blends do not interfere with other medications and are safe for children and animals. For those worried about the alcohol content being consumed, you are encouraged to apply the blend to the back of your hand or I often put it on my children's head.

Please be advised, for emergent or serious medical conditions, please contact your attending physician for care as this is not a replacement for serious or emergent medical attention.
